Grand Opening PR Campaign Pitch

I have a story idea about a couple who lives in Bruceville-Eddy. If you like my pitch, I am happy to set up an interview.

Rewind to 1997, when Christopher Grider met Crystal Johnson while they were 9th graders at Trinity Christian School in Dallas. It was love at first sight for him, and after a few months, Crystal’s feelings reciprocated. On a weekend trip to Crystal’s family farm in Eddy, Chris and Crystal shared their first kiss in a hackberry tree on the property.

Fast forward to 2002 when the two eloped, and then headed to the Texas Hill Country for the honeymoon. Their dream of owning a winery soon followed. After teaching school in Dallas, McKinney and working at a winery in downtown Dallas, Crystal’s mother generously offered the couple the Eddy property to move to and start a vineyard. In 2015, they planted 200 vines. In 2016 they planted 2,200 more. They named the wine business Kissing Tree Vineyards after that kiss in 9th grade. They taught school at Connally High School for the two years, but left their classrooms in March 2016 to focus 100 percent on their business. The teachers and principal at CHS were very supportive of their new endeavor. The Griders’ are now renovating 3,800 square feet of retail space at 109 W. 3rd St. in Eddy where Kissing Tree Vineyards’ Grand Opening is Saturday June 11th and Sunday June 12th. Christopher and Crystal would be happy to show you around the tasting room and vineyard before or during the grand opening.  Or they can tell their story on set during the morning or noon show. I hope you agree this is a sweet story that your viewers would enjoy. Here’s their website; they are a darling couple.
