WACO, Texas (April 21, 2016) — Nucor Building Systems and Pearson Construction today presented Midway ISD with the “Excellence in Building” award for the work Pearson Construction did on the Midway Activities Center.
The Midway Activities Center is a multi-purpose facility that allows students to train or practice sports or other extracurricular activities simultaneously. The building was designed with sectional nets and batting cages which retract into the ceiling when not in use, and the multi-use design easily allows multiple student activities on a year-round basis, including band, baseball, cheer, dance, football, golf, orchestra and soccer.
“The two greatest benefits of this structure are the multi-use nature of its design, along with the ability of teams to practice through inclement weather year-round,” said Scott Pearson, president of Pearson Construction.
This building is Nucor Building System’s preeminent project. It is being used in marketing endeavors by the manufacturer of custom pre-engineered metal building systems.
This facility has been visited by high school and college coaches from around the nation and has been viewed as one of the finest facilities in existence.
