Nearly 90 percent of our marketing budget is targeted to the franchise community.  Why franchises?  After several successful public relations campaign for Curves International, a friend suggested we leverage the work we did for that franchise giant and market our services to other franchisors.  So we joined the International Franchise Association (IFA). Our exhibit opens at  IFA ‘s annual convention Feb. 12th for a day and a half.  In years past, we had a simple booth and did very little pre-event marketing to drive people to our booth.  Not the case this year.

Thanks to my friend and marketing expert Cathi Davis from WRS Group and QTI Promotions, our; we will dress in our company colors with our logo embroidered on all the shirts, tops and sweaters, and new director’s chairs for our booth will have our company logo.  Thanks to the idea of our creative director Bage Anderson, the activity in our booth will speak volumes about our service.  How?

This year, Bage will set up his camera gear in the booth and shoot video interviews of attendees about the convention, insights from the various panels, speakers, etc.  Then Bage will edit the videos that night into one to two minutes vignettes, and Franchise Times will stream the videos on their website.  And we will email the video link to each interviewee so they can post their specific IFA Insights video on Facebook, Twitter, etc during the convention.  Yes, we will shoot and produce social media content on the spot while at the same time showing our PR prowess having Franchise Times editor Nancy Weingartner conducting the interviews.

After receiving the event registration list last week, we cherry-picked prospects and mailed these invitations in a fun box using our company colors. Stay tuned for results from our exhibit at the IFA Annual Convention.
