What we do for WHB

Copywriting / Video / Media Relations

Case Study

Each month in the Wacoan magazine, the funeral home runs “Ask the Expert, an advertorial. At the beginning of each year, we brainstorm topics for the 100-word Question & Answer feature. To complement the print advertorial, we produce a video about one to two minutes in length on the same topic for social media and the website.  Pretty much anything marketing, we handle it for WHB.

What are funeral options for those who served?

Military Funeral Honors is a way to show the nation’s deep gratitude to those who, in times of war and peace, have faithfully defended our country.  Military units are required to provide, at a minimum, a two-person uniformed detail to present the core elements of the Funeral Honors ceremony. The core elements are the playing of “Taps,” flag folding, and flag presentation.  Additional elements include rifle detail, honor guard, pallbearers, caisson, and military flyover. Funeral directors are familiar with Military Funeral Honors and can also assist families with military headstones/markers, the Presidential Memorial Certificate, a burial flag, and National Cemeteries.

How does pre-paying your funeral save money?

You will never pay more for the goods and services selected today, regardless of inflation. More than 10 years ago, my family’s dear friends, Grant and Donnell Teaff, pre-funded their funerals including selecting their caskets. The Teaffs have saved about $4,500. When asked about pre-planning and prepaying, Coach Teaff says, “I think it is probably a hurdle that you have to get over. Death is a reality, and sometimes we just prefer not to deal with reality. But once we do that, it gives you a very good feeling of comfort and the realization that you have done something to help your family.”

Being a family-owned, independent funeral home, the owners of WHB are patriotic, and especially enjoy supporting anything American, including American Athletes competing in the Olympics.  This TV commercial ran during the 2018 Winter Olympic on our local NBC affiliate.

We also handle print and online advertising for WHB, social media management, and we coordinate and style photo shoots, most recently of Hatch Bailey and his brothers Wes and Roy.

Media Relations

When we learned that owner Hatch Bailey and receptionist Susan Stem took their dogs to work nearly every day, we said the Waco Trib needs to cover this story.  So we pitched Trib reporter Cassie Smith and secured this story on the funeral home.  Since we began working with WHB, we secured dozens of news stories on the funeral home including by local media, funeral trade media, national media and international media.
