MCGREGOR, Texas (November 13, 2015) — The First National Bank Your Bank For Life (TNFB) was named Outstanding Philanthropic Business/Corporation by the Central Texas Chapter Association of Fundraising Professionals. TFNB was chosen for this award because of its Charity Champions program, which honors charitable organizations in Central Texas.

The award is presented to a business or corporation that motivates others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement by providing financial support and encouragement. Nominees for this award are scored on a 100-point scale based on overall gift support, each major cause, initiative, or nonprofit supported by the nominee, additional achievements accomplished through the business or corporation, and the work the nominee has done to encourage others, including customers, employees, and the community in general.

TFNB stood above the competition because the Charity Champions program offers more than financial support alone. TFNB funded unique marketing campaigns that laser-focused on the mission and the needs of each organization, garnering them publicity and support from the community. Furthermore, TFNB provided leadership development—which includes looking at long-term strategy, the roles and responsibilities of the leadership team, and the skills needed to be a successful nonprofit organization—to each executive director, their staff, and their board. This helps advance the nonprofits’ most valuable assets, their people.

“The increase in awareness is incredible,” said Susie Wimberly, executive director of CASA of McLennan and Hill Counties. Jerry Snider, associate director of Generations Adoptions, echoes those sentiments, saying, “The monetary contributions that come in as a result of being selected a Charity Champion helps to feed even more older adults.” Both CASA of McLennan and Hill Counties and Generations Adoptions are Charity Champions.

“The support we provide these organizations helps take our community to a higher level,” said David Littlewood, president of TFNB. “We hope that other businesses around the state will follow our lead.”

The award was accepted by David Littlewood, president of TFNB, at the Philanthropic Day Luncheon, November 12, at the Ridgewood Country Club.
