COLUMBIA, SC, April 1, 2014 — Tom Falk, the executive director of Assisting Hands® Home Care of the Midlands, announced a call for support for “Team Jayne” during the April 5, 2014 “Walk MS” even in West Columbia.  This team was formed to honor Falk’s wife, Jayne Falk, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1989. The 2014 goal of Team Jayne is raising a total of $1,000 and to raise awareness for the importance of  National MS Society, to fund research, to advocate for change, and to help local South Carolina residents living with MS. The team needs public support to achieve this. “Joining our team means you support critical funds to support local programs and cutting-edge research,” said Tom Falk, owner of Assisting Hands Home Care of the Midlands. “Every step counts. Every dollar helps. Every connection matters. We believe in this cause, and we are asking for your support.” Those who would like to participate by walking and/or donating can register to join at the “Team Jayne” Walk MS webpage. Supporters who do not wish to donate online can drop off contributions at the event on the day of the walk. Day-of-registration for Walk MS starts at 8:00 am on April 5, 2014 at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater, located at 121 Alexander Rd West Columbia. Event courses range from one-to-three miles in length. The opening ceremony will be held at 8:45 am, and Walk MS 2014 will begin at 9:00 am.
